Microsoft seeks to blend video games and film, Dead Space 3 adapts Kinect voice commands, and Angry Birds acquires premiere class of producers for movie adaptation, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!
Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. According to a freshly published job advertisement, Microsoft is in the process of developing a new franchise for their Xbox platform that “blends the best elements of games and TV/film,” Described by Microsoft as an “exiting new AAA core game,” no details were provided in regards to whether the release would make it onto the Xbox 360 or release on the next Xbox, but considering the hiring phase is in process, don’t be surprised if the game releases on whatever Microsoft decides to name their next console.
As 2012 comes to a close and the overabundance of AAA video games scheduled for early 2013 prepare for their anticipated launch, Electronic Arts continues to fire ammunition for the February 5th release, Dead Space 3. For the first time in the Dead Space franchise, Microsoft’s Kinect will be integrated within the gameplay for voice commands such as “share ammo” and “give Stasis”. Not exactly the most unique implementation of Kinect considering Mass Effect 3 achieved the same experience, but for those who prefer commanding by voice rather than controls, your wishes have been granted.
Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, the most successful mobile gaming franchise of all time, Angry Birds has officially earned its own movie adaptation scheduled for release in 2016. Acquiring the co-executive producer of Iron Man, David Maisel as the executive producer alongside John Cohen, once the Vice President of Production at Twentieth Century Fox Animation, the potential behind such an exotic idea is incredible with the talent incorporated. Further details remain silent, but considering the film is more than three years away, you can expect the adaptation to remain silent for quite some time.
