Deklaratat e Presidentit serb, Tomislav Nikolic, se për Kosovën duhet kërkuar zgjidhje brenda sovranitetit të Serbisë, kanë nxitur reagime të ashpra në Prishtinë. Ne një interviste për te përditshmen "Danas" Nikoliç ishte shprehur se Beogradi planifikon autonomi te gjere për Kosovën, duke thënë se në këtë rast shqiptarët do të jetonin si gjermanët në Itali apo Belgjikë. Por menjëherë ka ardhur përgjigja e Prishtinës zyrtare përmes zv/kryeministrit. "Më pare do ta ftoja Nikoliçin që të lexojë ndonjë libër të ri për çështjen e rregullimit të marrëdhënieve ndërkombëtare dhe ndërshtetërore, sesa të merret me ëndrra", ka thënë Kuçi për gazetën "Express". "Zakonisht ndjenja e kompensimit vjen në pleqëri dhe duket se atij i ka ardhur, si ata që shohin filma vizatimore si fëmijë dhe fillojnë t'ju përsëritet kur plaken", ka ironizuar Kuçi idenë e Nikoliçit.
