Xhudistja kosovare Majlinda Kelmendi përfundimisht do te përfaqësoje Shqipërinë ne lojërat olimpike "Londër 2012". Pas bllokadës se Komitetit Olimpik Ndërkombëtar qe nuk e lejonte te merrte pjese ne olimpiade nen flamurin e Kosovës, me pretendimin se ajo nuk është anëtare e Kombeve te Bashkuara, por edhe kundërshtimin për te garuar si e pavarur, atëherë ekipi i xhudistes nga Peja ka zgjedhur Shqipërinë. Majlinda Kelmendi është e pesta ne bote ne xhudo, ne peshën 52 kg dhe ka shtetësi te Kosovës dhe Shqipërisë. Pjesëmarrja e saj ishte edhe enigma e fundit, pasi Kelmendi shpreson te ishte edhe kosovarja e pare qe përfaqësonte shtetin me te ri ne olimpiade. Lajmi është pasqyruar gjerësisht nga mediat ndërkombëtare si "Associated Press" apo "Washington Post", te cilat shprehnin keqardhje qe xhudistja e talentuar nuk kapërceu pengesat politike për te garuar nen flamurin e Kosovës. Ne palmaresin e saj 21-vjeçarja ka fituar medaljen e arte ne kampionatin botëror për te rinj ne Paris ne vitin 2009. Ne 2010, ne Marok, përfundoi ne vend te peste ndërsa po atë vit u klasifikua e 9-ta ne botërorin e te rriturve ne Japoni. Bashke me Kelmendin, nen ngjyrat kuqezi, kane arritur normat kualifikuese për ne olimpiadën e Londrës edhe 5 peshëngritës, katër meshkuj dhe një femër.
