As comedian Blake Anderson’s tech thug in the new film Dope correctly point outs, “Nobody really goes outside anymore.”

To that end, Dope executive producer/music supervisor Pharrell Williams and the film’s leads Tony Revolori, Kiersey Clemons and Shameik Moore -- who comprise the fictional hip-hop/punk band Awreeoh in the film-- would like to make a public announcement.

Well, not exactly. But Awreeoh’s fun new video for “Don't Get Deleted” (one of four original Pharrell songs on the soundtrack under the Awreeoh moniker) does satirize our generation’s anti-social social media tendencies.

Zoe Kravitz Talks Sundance Film Dop and Opening for Miley Cyrus

The nerds-in-the-hood comedy, which sparked a bidding war at Sundance this year and releases June 19 via Open Road Films, centers on Moore’s character Malcolm, a high-school geek from Inglewood, Calif. with Harvard aspirations. Like his only two friends, he's obsessed with ‘90s hip-hop and plays in a punk band called Awreeoh (pronounced Oreo). Enter the effortlessly cool Dom (A$AP Rocky) and things take a turn for the ominous to the tune of the classics -- we’re talking Public Enemy, Naughty By Nature, Digable Planets, A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, and more.

The Pharrell-curated soundtrack to the film, which also stars Zoe Kravitz, Tyga, Chanel Iman, and Quincy Brown, is out June 16.
