Taco Bell Cap’n Crunch Doughnut Holes - Food Feeder

2015-05-05 26

Taco Bell’s new line of products are a pretty consistent source of topics around here. And now, we can only assume Taco Bell has caught on to our game and they’re just screwing with us. Because they’re making donut holes, that are filled with frosting, and covered with crushed Cap’n Crunch cereal. No, seriously.

According to Taco Bell’s marketing copy, they’re filled with “Sweet Milk Icing” and covered in Crunch Berries. They’re also bright red, according to pictures on the Internets of these Cap’n Crunch delights. Because artificial flavoring is where’s it’s at, yo.

We’re not sure how cereal-covered donuts fits into the ostensibly Mexican menu at Taco Bell, but their official statement claims that the Cap’n Crunch Delights are inspired by Taco Bell’s passion to incorporate nostalgic cereal in their breakfast platform. And clearly, they couldn’t be satisfied, by, y’know, just serving cereal for breakfast.

Look, we’re as confused as you are. Right now, this market test is limited to Bakersfield, California, so if you’re there, you can give yourself pre-diabetes for seriously cheap.

If you want to read more about these Cap’n Crunch Delights, perhaps in vain hope of understanding ANY PART of the reasoning behind their invention, read up on them here: http://goo.gl/v8qXjd

What do you think the real reason behind creating these cereal donut holes was (correct answer: the munchies)? Do you live around Bakersfield? Have you tried these out? Do you hope Cap’n Crunch Delights come to a Taco Bell near you? What other nostalgic food do you think is going to inspire Taco Bell’s breakfast platform next? (Our guess: Skippy Peanut Butter Breakfast Quesadillas. You’re welcome, Taco Bell)
