A micro taxi concept car eliminates the front passenger seat.
Today, everything seems to be getting smaller. A concept car called Micro Taxi is essentially a smaller-than-average cab which eliminates the front passenger seat. The designers thought it was strange and useless to have a wide car which contained the two front seats as the majority of taxis usually carry between one and two passengers.
So they developed a futuristic looking, boxy car that contains only one small driver’s seat in the center at the very front with two nearly located jump seats in the back.
It will also leave a much smaller footprint environmentally, which could potentially lower fares for travelers due to the reduced amount of gasoline used.
No one yet knows if the new taxi will make it into full production.
Last year, another futuristic design called the ECCO camper by design company NAU, served as both a small car and camper all in one package. The egg-shaped vehicle sat low to the ground while in drive mode.
However when the vehicle was parked, the cap opened to reveal the living mode, which featured a toilet and folding beds. It was described as an all-electric vehicle, with no emissions of its own.
