Congress' decision to not to let media interact with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh after he filed nomination for the Rajya Sabha in Assam has angered media. Assam media accused the Congress government of shielding the PM from their questions. Following the protests, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh were forced to come out and assuage protesting media. Later, the PM apologized for the incident.
