Bears target residents of an Indian village after consuming flowers.

There is a good reason why many people have a fear of bears.

Recently, eight residents of a small village in India were killed by exceptionally aggressive bears in only a week’s time. More than 10 other villagers have been injured in attacks.

It has gotten to a point where residents are understandably scared, frustrated and angry. Just last week, local dwellers chased bears out of their village and beat one of the animals to death.

Indian authorities believe the bears may have become more confrontational after consuming flowers from mahua trees, which local tribes use to brew liquor.

In another recent report, a 30-year-old man in Ontario was mauled by a bear right outside of his home. Luckily he survived and was taken to the hospital for treatment and recovery.

The male victim tried to make noises to scare the animal away, however the bear did not back down and chased the man to the road.. Two women witnessed the attack and successfully scared the bear away in their vehicle.
