Alleged mafia chief Juan Ramon Fernandez, seen here in the centre in hidden camera footage.

He and another Canadian have been found dead in an illegal waste dump in the Sicilian countryside.

Fernandez is thought to have been a prominent member of Toronto's Rizzuto clan.

Police last saw him on April 9.

His body was found on Thursday.

Two alleged Sicilian mafia members, brothers Pietro and Salvatore Scaduto, are in custody for the double murder.

Police suspect Fernandez was killed as part of a feud between his boss and a breakaway rival.
