Karachi security tight amid election attacks

The streets are unusually quiet in Pakistan's biggest city, Karachi, on Sunday.

Security is tight after a spate of attacks at electoral gatherings over the past week.

More than 20 people have been killed and dozens injured in the attacks, which have targeted mainly secular political parties.

Some Karachi residents said the blasts would prevent people from voting.

This man says it isn't worth risking a life to cast a vote.

On Saturday, at least two people were killed and 25 injured in successive blasts near an election office.

Another bomb an hour later injured at least 20.

Rescue workers rushed the injured to the nearby civil hospital where a young victim died from her injuries.

The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan party has claimed responsibility for all bombings and has threatened to continue similar attacks on the three secular parties.
