Me playing the organ at the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul in Albury, Surrey.
The organ was built in 1935 by the John Compton Organ Company Ltd. It was the gift of Miss Capadose, who made other generous donations to the church. Sir Harold Darke, the eminent organist, advised the choice of this organ. Its installation required the conversion of the west gallery into an organ loft and the introduction of the two oak pillars near the west doors to give support. The console is situated in an alcove on the south side of the chancel behind the choir stalls. The organ is built on the extension principal and has 9 ranks of pipes fully enclosed in 2 chambers with a dummy pipe facade. There is also the Compton patent 32ft Polyphonic Bass.
For this first video here I am playing the hymn 'To the Name of our salvation' to the tune 'Regent Square' which shows off the power of this instrument.
