Pakistan bears brunt of Iranian earthquake

Iranian television announcing a 7.8 quake that struck its southeast border on Tuesday.

Iran originally reported dozens of deaths but later revised that estimate to zero casualties.

It was Pakistan that bore the brunt of quake, which killed over a dozen people there and destroyed hundreds of homes.

The tremor sent Karachi residents running into the streets.

(SOUNDBITE) (Urdu) STORE KEEPER AT GARMENT SHOP, SULEMAN PALOOS, SAYING:

"I was working in the store room. Suddenly I saw the racks, which are quite heavy with our stocks, shaking like this. I could not figure out what had gone wrong. I said 'God help us'. Then I got out."

The quake was felt in India and Gulf States like Dubai, where amateur video captured people evacuating a building.
