Xena The Warrior Puppy finds a home with an autistic boy.

A dog in Georgia named Xena the Warrior Puppy has recently found a home with an autistic child, Jonny Hickey.

Xena was found abandoned and abused, on the side of the road and left for dead about 7 months back.

She has since been adopted by the Hickey family. Jonny was previously withdrawn and resistant to speak and interact with others. However, since the arrival of Xena into the home, Johnny is talking up a storm and is as happy as can be.

In a statement that can bring tears to almost anyone’s eyes, he says “this is my puppy, Xena. Well, my Xena was hurt really bad. By some not-so-nice people. And I have autism. So I think we make a pretty perfect team to spread the word to be nice to animals, and nice to kids like me.”

In a similar case, a 7-year-old child, Owen Howkins was socially withdrawn and rarely left the house due to a genetic condition. Then the family adopted a three-legged Shepherd, who was rescued after being struck by a train.

Owen soon gained confidence and began taking his dog for walks and talking to everyone about his beloved pet.
