A stray dog in Virginia roamed the streets for 2 years before being rescued.

Stray dogs are a rare sight in the US urban areas but not for some residents of Virginia.

The ten-pound Shih Tzu, named Biscuit frequented the roads of Franconia, darting in and out of traffic.

He was well known among residents, many of whom had tried to catch the little dog but were unsuccessful. A Fairfax County Animal Control Officer tracked Biscuit for nine months before finally catching him. The rescue mission took over four hours and help of 10 people.

The veterinarian pulled more than 40 ticks from the stubborn pooch and shaved off three pounds of scraggly hair. Shockingly, the stray dog was really healthy, despite his long life on the streets.

The officer in charge of catching Biscuit is providing a foster home, getting him accustomed to life indoors before finding him a loving family.

Last year, a lonely stray dog in China chased a group of bicyclists after they threw it a scrap of food as they rode down the highway. The pooch followed the team for over one thousand miles, scaling 12 mountains over 24 days.

One of the cyclists decided to adopt the determined dog.
