Webcomics have exploded in popularity in recent years. But unlike videos and blogs, there are few major platforms online for the new medium.Chang Kim, CEO of Tapas Media, wants to change that with his new project called Tapastic.Tapastic has become the new consumer destination for webcomics, providing various indie comic artists and writers the chance to share their work for free.Tapastic provides over 50 original ‘bit-sized' serialized visual stories covering a wide variety of genres.Kim, who was a PM of Blogger at Google, was inspired by the popularity of Korean Webtoons, which is one of the most popular Internet services in South Korea.San Jose, Calif.-based Tapastic is the first major project for Tapas Media, which was founded by Kim in March of 2012.Tapastic is available online at Tapastic.com and as a free Android and iOS app.
