James Brown performs "I Got the Feelin'" while engaging with the audience-- Live at the Apollo Theater in New York City, March, 1968. James Brown: Man to Man was a concert film recorded live at the Apollo Theater. It was broadcast as an hour-long syndicated television special and is one of the first color recordings of James Brown.
Released as a single in 1968, "I Got the Feelin" reached #1 on the R&B chart and #6 on the pop chart. The Jackson 5 auditioned for Motown founder Berry Gordy in 1968 with a filmed performance of "I Got the Feelin'" with Michael Jackson at age 10 closely mimicking James Brown's vocal style and dance moves.
