Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that economic vision for the country should be about compassion as he stresses the call for inclusive growth.
“The image of India has changed and you have played a big role in that,” he said while addressing the CII AGM. Gandhi showed appreciation for the business community and thanked them for altering the image of India on a global scale in his initial interface with business leaders.
Gandhi recounting his interactions with the common man said “India is bursting with dreams, optimism and brave ideas.” The he further added, this optimism is the spirit of India. This energy drives the consumption on which businesses are built, he continued.
Stating that India is the home to world’s largest human capital pool, Gandhi said, “We have the seeds of world class education.” Gandhi questioned the ‘obsolete education system’ prevalent in the country.
According to Gandhi, “We are now sitting on an unstoppable tide of human aspirations, and we need to nurture them.” He gave emphasis to require channelizing the energy of the youth.
“It is our duty to provide physical infrastructure, roads which will carry strong forces and people,” he said. “We must make ideas move fast in the 21st century,” Gandhi said.
