A full stop to poultry sales.
Authorities in Shanghai will halt all local sales of poultry beginning Saturday.
It's in response to six deaths in eastern China from a deadly new strain of the bird flu virus.
In Shanghai, where four of the six deaths occurred, poultry markets were already being shut down, the live birds culled and incinerated.
The city's Center for Disease Control reminded residents the new strain of the virus, called H7N9, doesn't transmit from person to person.
(SOUNDBITE) (Mandarin) CHIEF OF SHANGHAI MUNICIPAL CENTER FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION, WU FAN, SAYING:
"Our lab examination has confirmed that the tests [of one of the 119 close contacts of the H7N9 patients with suspected flu symptoms] all read H7N9 negative. It means that he did not contract the H7N9 virus, and it's good news for the public."
