Thai 12 Rear Kick Counter Series - 4) Lead Leg Shield

2013-04-05 22

Check out our series on 12 ways to counter the Thai Rear Kick!

Our fourth counter to the Rear Kick is the Lead Leg Shield. This move is commonly practiced and is one of the most used counters to the Rear Kick. The front leg is lifted up to shield the Rear Kick at a 45 degree angle while the elbow touches the knee on the outside as the leg comes up. The body is curled up and it acts as a turtle-like structure for you to be able to take the kick without falling over.

Enjoy the video and be sure to check out our other videos in this series and our other series as well!
