Thirteen Seventy are a noise/rock band from Brisbane, Australia.
Biography
Thirteen Seventy is a noise rock band from Brisbane, Australia. They combine unruly rock & roll, searing guitar noise and delicate atmospherics, with strong songwriting sensibilities indebted to early 90's Seattle as well as Australia's rich underground music history.
Following the digital release of their debut single "Labour In Vain" earlier this year, the band is set to release its second single, the double A-side "My Lover Loves Everybody / Sheep" in July 2012. Thirteen Seventy are also currently working on a video for "Sheep", as well as putting the finishing touches to debut album "Arrest The Slide", due for release in August 2012. Their upcoming album features guest contributions from Producer Jeff Lovejoy, Janey Mac (The Good Ship) & Lucinda Shaw (Silver Sircus).
Formed in 2011, the band initially spent much of their time writing songs, developing their sound and doing an occasional low-key live performance. Chief songwriter, guitarist & vocalist Clint Morrow has been a multi-instrumentalist in a string of successful Brisbane bands including The Soundcasters, Bertie Page Clinic & The Good Ship. Bass & backing vocals are handled by Tony Parker (also ex-Soundcasters), and Fi Ellwood recently replaced founding drummer James Lees behind the kit.
