STORY: Veteran Russian designer Slava Zaitsev and famous fashion designer Alena Akhmadulina showed their new collections on Friday (March 29) at the start of Russian Fashion Week.

Zaitsev's autumn/winter 2013 collection was surprisingly full of bright colours such as yellow and pink.

His collection for men incorporated more of a classic style this time, full of standard accessories such as bow-tie and classic shoes. But there were some surprises here too with classic suits done in soft green, brown and creamy white colours.

Meanwhile, Akhmadullina remained loyal to her classy, smart, and timeless style.

Akhmadulina's designs were done in her traditional "a la russe"-style. Models were wearing fur coats, wolf and owl-skin patterns, silk mono-coloured dresses, Russian scarves and wool beads, trotting the catwalk to techno-covers of Russian folk songs.
