President Jacob Zuma's office says the Nobel Prize laureate continues to respond to treatment in hospital for a recurrence of pneumonia.
On Sunday, supporters in Johannesburg wished the 94-year-old anti-apartheid leader a speedy recovery.

"He is spending a lot of time in hospital but not surprising he is not exactly a youngster anymore, but I mean he's got excellent people looking after him. I am sure he is going to do well."

"I wish that God can bless us with many Madibas throughout the years."
The Presidency said doctors have drained excess fluid from his lungs to tackle the infection.
Previous bulletins since the former president was taken to hospital on Wednesday have reported him responding well and in good spirits.
