Number 5 - Here's one from the darker side of that era. This story covered a lynching in Union City, Tennessee. As noted - 'An African American accused of murdering Samuel McClue, a white man, early to-day was hanged here by a mob this afternoon on a prominent street corner in the presence of 1,000 persons.'
Number 4 - It was early days for wireless technology and a successfully communication test was conducted between Paris and Washington using wireless telegraphy. 'Messages sent from Arlington station had been received with clearness by the station on Eiffel Tower and practically instantaneously.'
