At least 42 people have been killed in an explosion at a Mosque in Damascus and 84 wounded the Syrian health ministry has said. The dead includes senior pro-government Muslim cleric Mohammed al-Buti. He once described the opposition to President Bashar al-Assad as, "scum".
The blast happened on the day the UN agreed to launch a probe into alleged chemical weapons attacks.
