A car dealer sells to an elderly, blind man.

How far would you go to make a sale? An elderly couple was recently visited by a car dealer who sold them an expensive GMC Terrain.

The 90-year-old woman, Christen Thomsen suffers from dementia. Her husband, Harold was legally blind. Sadly he passed away three weeks after the papers were signed.

The couple’s daughter, named Barb is furious about what she thinks was a scam. Apparently it was Barb’s brother who wanted the SUV. He allegedly brought his elderly mom to the dealership located in Wisconsin. Harold’s signature was required to get the loan.

An employee ventured to his home to get the dying man to sign. Their son’s name was nowhere on the loan and Christen doesn’t remember buying the car. When reporters got wind of the transaction, the dealership offered to buy the vehicle back and pay off the loan.

Recently a Seattle car dealership was under scrutiny after selling an elderly couple a four-wheel drive, 2011 Ford Fusion for over $23,000. With extra fees, the grand total amounted to more than $33,000.

The vehicle had roughly 80,000 miles on it. The dealership had originally posted an ad for the couple's Fusion for under $16,000 on Craigslist. In lieu of the controversy, the company rescinded the deal.
