Members of the National People's Congress in Beijing attended the final day of meetings Sunday.

Security was expectedly tight in and around Tiananmen Square as delegates from all over the country streamed into the Great Hall of the People, some dressed in traditional costumes.

During the ceremony, power was officially handed over to the country's new president Xi Jinping (she jeen peeng) and the new premier Li Keqiang (lee kuh-chang)

Xi addressed the delegates and stressed the ideals central to China's Communist Party paying particular attention to corruption.

Later in the day, Li echoed those sentiments during a news conference with foreign journalists.

Li also answered questions about the ongoing row over cyber hacking telling one reporter that he sensed a presumption of guilt in the question, and cautioned against either the U.S. or China making groundless accusations.
