The European Parliament has backed a motion to make EU farming subsidies more transparent.
MEPs called for the names of all beneficiaries of Common Agricultural Policy funding to be made public.
No farm, unless it is a cooperative, would receive more than 300,000 euros a year.
The parliament's proposal will now be negotiated with the European Commission and EU member states.
