Hideo Kojima confirms Metal Gear/Fox engine announcement for GDC, PlayStation 4 pre-orders reveal ‘unprecedented demand’, and Metal Gear Rising DLC free for a limited time, THIS IS NICK’S GAMING VIEW!
Hello everyone and welcome to Nick’s Gaming View, you are here with your host, Nick McCandless. Hideo Kojima has spiked excitement for this year’s Game Developers Conference with a tweet revealing an upcoming announcement: “I will give presentation speech at GDC3013 in SF. It will be tech presentation of FOX engine but also there's an announcement to be made. Please come and join us if you got some time.” With Kojima’s Photorealism through the eyes of a 'Fox' - The core of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes' (Presented by Kojima Productions)," session scheduled for March 27th, fans of the Metal Gear franchise around the world are hoping to hear of an appearance on the PlayStation 4 and hear how Kojima plans to utilize the power that the upcoming platform provides, so stay tuned because as soon as I have the details, I’ll be sure to relay the message.
Speaking of Sony’s PlayStation 4, according to leading online games retail, ShopTo, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has seen ‘unprecedented demand’ and has been the most successful preorder in the company’s seven year history. Not a surprise, when it comes to the software, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Watch Dogs are the two most pre-ordered software titles for the platform with Driveclub pulling in impressive numbers as well. I find it quite interesting for the platform to obtain such success without a confirmed price point, but one thing is for sure, Sony sure hit it home with their announcement and marketing making sure the world is aware of what’s next for PlayStation.
Wrapping up Nick’s Gaming View, if you own Metal Gear Rising on PlayStation 3, you can now download 30 new virtual reality missions absolutely free featuring the classic look inspired by the original Metal Gear Solid. The DLC will only be free until April 3rd, so even if you don’t plan on giving it a look anytime soon, be sure to head to the PlayStation Store and download the content before Konami assigns a price tag to the offer.
