I think what Rand Paul is trying to do is extend civil rights to terrorist and unlawful enemy combatants who forfeit their rights when they take up arms against the American people, by establishing a FISA style court system requiring presidents to get a warrant for a airstrike in the US. Presidents are elected and answer to the American people at the polls but judges are free of the electorial process and therefore FISA courts defeat the Constitution and the American people.
John McCain was right, Rand Paul needs to calm down. Those who trade liberty for security deserve niether and that is what Rand Paul is about, trading the right to defend this country in exchange for a false sense of security.
