Days after Kenyans cast their ballots, election officials announced Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner, beating out Raila Odinga by a slim margin.

Kenyatta brought in just over 50 percent of votes compared to his rival's 43 percent.

While the 51-year-old's victory first round win still has to be confirmed by the electoral commission, that didn't stop his supporters from celebrating.

Odinga is expected to challenge the results due to the slim margin.
