At Chavez's glass coffin, Venezuelans vow more revolution

A glass coffin for Venezuela's Revolutionary.

Tens of thousands of grieving supporters of the late President, Hugo Chavez, continued to file past his glass covered casket Thursday.

They came to see their deceased leader one last time and pledge that his socialist revolution will not die.

(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) CHAVEZ SUPPORTER, OSCAR GUTIERREZ, SAYING:

"We are here like soldiers paying tribute to the most important man from our country and Latin America."

Some saluted. Some clenched their fists. Others made the sign of the cross over his open casket.

They included soldiers, officers and senior ministers.

But also residents of the slums where Chavez was most loved during his 14 years in office.

(SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) CHAVEZ SUPPORTER, MARIA MARIN, SAYING:

"Chavez, here I am with my boots on. I am here loving you, following in your footsteps, following what you taught me, revolution."
