A 7-year-old boy is suspended for a gun-shaped pastry.

In lieu of recent shootings, schools across the country are being very cautious.

Recently a 7-year-boy, Josh Welch from Baltimore was suspended for creating a firearm shape from his pastry.

The elementary school sent a letter out to parents explaining that a student used food to make an “inappropriate gesture”. Josh told news outlets that he had been trying to chew his strawberry tart to make it look like a mountain but in the end, it turned out appearing more like a gun.

Josh was suspended from school for two days. His father disagrees with the decision stating “I would almost call it insanity. I mean with all the potential issues that could be dealt with at school, real threats, bullies, whatever the real issue is, it's a pastry.”

Josh took a lighthearted approaching to the situation stating “I didn't get to eat all my breakfast, so, really I am still hungry.”

Earlier this year, 5-year-old girl was suspended for 10 days after talking about playing with a Hello Kitty toy bubble gun. The kindergartner said “I'll shoot you, you shoot me, and we'll all play together”. That seemingly simple phrase was deemed a “terroristic threat” by the school.
