Crooks in Germany steal from moving trucks.
Talk about a scenario right out of movies.
Police in Dortmund, Germany are investigating 50 separate but very similar cases of robberies that have occurred on highways.
Apparently a group of thieves uses a daring, high speed operation to unload merchandise from a moving truck while in transit on the country’s infamous two-lane highways.
One car gets in front of the truck, another vehicle follows closely behind and a third automobile gets right on the side of the desired truck. A thief climbs through the sunroof of one of the vehicles and hops on the hood where he or she opens the back of the truck and unloads the contents.
All of this happens while the vehicles are driving down the road. The truck drivers usually don’t realize what’s happened until it’s too late.
Thus far, the crooks have stolen over $300,000 worth of goods.
Late last year, a daring culprit in Houston cut a hole in the roof of a cell phone store as a way to gain entry. Using a rope to slide down, he got into the shop and carried as many mobile phones as his hands would allow.
