South African anti-apartheid icon and Nobel Peace Prize winner, retired Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu, visited Myanmar's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi at her residence on Tuesday (February 26).

The two Nobel laureates met at Suu Kyi's lakeside home on the second day of Tutu's visit to Myanmar.

"Anything that moves toward freedom should be encouraged. But we also ought to be critical, you know, and be saying what about this? Let us see greater freedom happen," Tutu said, standing alongside his Nobel laureate colleague.

Tutu said he was going to meet politicians, former political prisoners, but he has no plans to meet government officials.
