China's first aircraft carrier cuts through fog to dock for the first time in the city of Qingdao.

The Liaoning conducted several weapons tests during its voyage to the city, where it arrived on Wednesday (February 27) morning.

The aircraft carrier launched last year after being refitted from a Ukrainian ship.

China says the Liaoning has boosted its overall naval strength and will help protect national sovereignty.

It comes amid maritime tension in parts of Asia, with China and its neighbours rowing over territorial claims.
