AirGo economy seats give passengers more room.
Economy seating on flights is not exactly luxurious.
AirGo is a new idea for plane seating allowing passengers to have a set amount of personal space which no fellow travelers can infringe upon.
The seat pitch is 41 inches, specially designed to minimally take up floor space. A major problem usually occurs when the passenger in front reclines their seat, taking up a major portion of the person’s space behind them. With AirGo, travelers will not be affected.
The engineer behind AirGo states “Compared to a normal economy class, AirGo uses only an additional 16 percent of floor space thanks to the new nylon mesh design which replaces the bulky cushions in current seats.” The seats could be a disadvantage to airlines, because the increased amount of floor space taken up means fewer seats will be sold.
Last year, another plane seat invention was geared at stopping aisle congestion. Called the Side-Slip Seat, the end chair could slide on top of the middle to allow for more room in the aisle while passengers are boarding. The seat could expand the aisle from 19 to 43 inches wide.
