It was a well-oiled operation aimed at snooping on influential people in the national capital. It was a spy ring where detectives and agents were used by politicians to snoop on each other. The ring has been exposed after it has emerged that one of the leaders who was being snooped on was Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley. Anurag Singh, the mastermind of this illicit operation along with his two accomplices hired a Delhi Police constable Arvind Dabas to leak call data records of politicians including Jaitley. Over period of one year, using highly advanced software and encryption devices imported from Israel, Singapore, they snooped on several influential people accessing over 500 gigabytes of confidential data. The Delhi Police has now claimed that Anurag was also arrested in the Amar Singh phone tapping case in 2005.
