A police chase involves a stolen Krispy Kreme truck.

Police raids are not always serious and tragic. Armed and equipped cops raided a Tewkesbury residence after a photo of a mortar tube was witnessed on a Facebook page.

What police thought was a deadly weapon turned out to be just a toy that was sitting in the corner of a silly picture. The 43-year-old resident, Ian Driscoll states “They flashed the search warrant in my face and said it was lucky I was in so they didn’t have to break my door down. Everyone has been laughing about it and I think it’s funny. It’s so stupid.”

A police spokesperson claimed the department was happy to have a harmless end result than anything more serious.

Sometimes Facebook posts lead to real raids. Recently, a teenager in Rhode Island was arrested after he posted comments and pictures featuring money, drugs and guns.

Narcotics officers saw the posts and connected with the 19-year-old who promptly sold drugs to an undercover detective. Police seized marijuana and two guns from his residence, and the suspect was charged and held without bail.
