Many women dream of owning a five-carat diamond. Recently, Russian diamond miner, Alrosa discovered a 145.44-carat diamond which was unearthed in the Yakutia region of Russia.

The company is one the world’s biggest producers of diamonds when it comes to volume. Their newest finding is a massive piece which is mostly transparent with an added yellow hue. The exact dimensions are 35 x 20 x 26 millimeters.

One of the diamond facets has a small crack and a production scuff can also be seen on the surface. According to experts at Alrosa, despite the imperfections, the diamond could nab $1 million if it goes to the auction.

Last year, a stunning 12.76 carat pink diamond was unearthed in a diamond mine in Australia. Named the Argyle Pink Jubilee, it was expected to fetch over 10 million dollars!
The piece was discovered at Rio Tinto's Argyle mine in Western Australia's East Kimberly region. According to the company’s manager, it took them 26 years of production to unearth the diamond.
