Defective and jammed brakes causes a man to drive 125 miles per hour.

It’s easy to take car brakes for granted. A Frenchman recently ended up in an unintentional high speed encounter when his brakes failed during a routine trip to the grocery store.

While operating his Renault Laguna, which is outfitted for disabled drivers, something went horribly wrong. The brakes jammed while traveling at 60 miles per hour and every time he hit the pedal to slow down, the car accelerated, eventually reaching a maximum speed of 125 miles per hour.

A convey of law enforcement vehicles followed the man and the chase ended after he ran out of gas and crashed into a ditch.

The terrifying journey went on for 125 miles and although no one was seriously injured, the driver plans to file a legal complaint against Renault.

Last year, a woman jumped from a moving car after her brakes jammed while she was traveling 45 miles per hour. She skidded across the roadway and hit her head on a pole.

The car smashed into a guardrail, while the terrified lady was hospitalized for road rash and bruises.
