A landslide in China's south-western Guizhou province buried five people, including two children on Monday, state media reported.

According to the official state news agency Xinhua, the landslide occurred at around 11 a.m. (0300GMT) in the city of Kaili, engulfing six workers' dormitories in its path.

Chinese state television CCTV said that rescue efforts are still underway but due to the dangers posed by falling debris and the possibility of other landslides occurring, the process has been slowed.

CCTV also said that the direct cause of the landslide is still under investigation.
