Switzerland has hosted the Winter Olympics twice, in 1928 and 1948 in the eastern Swiss ski resort of St Moritz. The Games could be held in the canton of Graubünden yet again in 2022, if supporters of an Olympic bid get their way. On March 3, voters in the canton will decide whether to put forward a bid, which would commit Switzerland to a huge investment in infrastructure to host the games. Swissinfo takes a look back at the early Olympics in St Moritz and examines what facilities are needed today for a winter sporting event on this scale. (SFR/swissinfo.ch)
