Duravent DuraPlus is an all fuel, high temp or "Class A" chimney pipe. It can be used with wood, coal, gas or oil. It can also be used for many applications such as wood stoves, boilers and ranges.
DuraPlus is designed to stay cool on the outside, to provide a hot draft on the inside, to boost stove efficiency, and to provide for a fire-safe design that protects both the chimney and the building. This triple-wall chimney features three walls of construction; the inner wall is made of stainless steel, regardless of the outside wall, the second wall is aluminized steel and you have the option of either galvanized steel or stainless steel for the outer wall. You will want to use stainless steel when transitioning from inside the house to the outside as the stainless steel will hold up much better when exposed to the outdoor elements. You can use galvanized while inside then transition over to the stainless to save costs. They both have the same twist lock manufacturing so they will connect together perfectly.
Between the inner wall and the intermediate wall you have a layer of blanket insulation (ceramic blanket), and between the intermediate wall and the outer wall you have an air space which is designed to keep the pipe cool. The ceramic blanket insulation is held securely in position, eliminating hot spots common with loose-fill type insulation. In the event of a creosote fire, the compressible blanket insulation permits the chimney liner to expand outwardly in a radial direction.
This pipe is designed to have a 2 inch clearance to combustibles on all sides, meaning you must maintain a 2 inch clearance around the pipe at all time, including when going through walls and ceilings.
