STORY: Pops of electric blue and yellow balanced out Victoria Beckham's Fall 2013 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.

In a release supplied to the press, Beckham described her collection as "refined quality within a mannish modernity" and this could be seen in the first batch of looks presented.

For the first time Beckham showed knitwear, as well as tweed, plaid and herringbone, which she called "quintessentially British heritage".

The former pop star has forecast a bright fall by using pops of yellow on some of her signature silhouettes.

Voluptuous shoulders on dresses allowed Beckham to stretch the boundaries of her collection.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in New York will end on Thursday (February 14).
