300-year-old Isaac Newton's books have been found.

A series of books believed to be the original work of Sir Isaac Newton have been found by a student at Newcastle-under-Lyme School, Staffordshire in the United Kingdom.

The books are over 300 years old, and contain Newton’s ideas about the principles of gravity and his famous laws of motion.

The set of three books, published in Latin are titled Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, which translated means Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy.

The three books have a publication date of July 5, 1687.
Sir Isaac Newton is credited with discovering the mathematics behind the law of gravity, and other laws of motion.

His work was not translated into English until the year after his death, but he is one of the most famous scientists who ever lived.

Newton’s three laws of motion are the tendency for an object to stay in motion unless subjected to an outside force, known as the “law of inertia”; the mass of an object in relation to its acceleration when force is applied, and “for every action there an equal and opposite reaction.”

The textbooks are estimated to be worth several thousand dollars.

A representative of the school where the books were found believes they will not sell them because of their historical importance and educational value.
