David Patterson, not quite nineteen, with his pocket full of dreams and guitar in hand took to writing only a year ago. With eyes and ears open wide his lyrics capture what so many overlook in today's society. The contemporary starkness of his songs cover issues such as war, love and the topical state of affairs. Raised with the sounds of Hank Williams, Buddy Holly and Woody Guthrie, clear influence is immediately apparent. Though there is something fresh surrounding David, whether it's the blend of driving guitar, rasping harmonica, emotive lyrics or bare boned vocals, he is a unique character with a message that needs to be heard.
