In a major embarrassment to the Uttar Pradesh government, a sting operation by the UP Police in Gonda district allegedly revealed minister asking the police to help cattle smugglers. KC Pandey, who enjoys the status of a Minister of State, offered a bribe over phone for illegal trafficking of cattle. While the minister has dismissed the charges, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has announced a probe into allegations.
