Egypt : State of emergency declared in three cities

Al Qarra – On Sunday, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi declared a 30-day state of emergency in Suez, Port Said and Ismailia. Clashes in the three cities in recent days have killed 46.

Mohamed Morsi, Egyptian President:

“To put an end to the bloodshed, maintain security against vandals and lawbreakers, and to protect citizens, I decided after reviewing the Constitution to declare a state of emergency in Port Said, Suez and Ismailia for thirty days, starting at midnight.”
