Hackers claim they've infiltrated a website of the U.S. Justice Department, in response to the suicide of an internet activist.
The Sentencing Commission site shut down on Saturday (January 26), amid claims hackers had access to government data.
The group "Anonymous" said they did it in support of computer prodigy Aaron Swartz, who killed himself earlier this month.
The 26-year-old had been facing trial for stealing articles from an online archive.
In a video posted online, Anonymous criticized his prosecution.
The FBI says the attack is under investigation.
