ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
STORY: Hollywood starlet Scarlett Johansson returned to Broadway to appear in a new revival of Tennesee Williams' 1955 Pulitzer-winning play "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." It's Johansson's first return to Broadway since 2010 when she took on the role of Catherine, a young girl blossoming into womanhood in Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge" which won her a Tony Award. In "Cat on the Hot Tin Roof" Johansson is in the role of Maggie, a Southern belle who married into a wealthy family to escape poverty. After its premiere on Thursday (January 17) Johansson told Reuters that she is once again treading the boards - saying it's lovely to be back. Many actresses including Elizabeth Taylor, Jessica Lange, Kathleen Turner and Ashley Judd have portrayed Maggie over the past decades. Johansson said that it was a challenge to follow in their footsteps. "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" opened on Broadway in New York on January 17, and will run for 15 weeks until March 30.
